A first person prototype in blue and white greybox: movement, combat, and two comparisons that were the point of building it. One sets a beginner run against a skilled run; the other runs the same sequence with the effect pass off and then on.
Footage
Domain prototype
First person movement and combat in a blue and white greybox, with health bars and hit numbers reading off the enemies.
Skill expression, beginner against skilled
The same encounter played as a beginner and as a skilled player, labelled on screen. Shoot, punch and block are all bound, and the gap between the two runs is the point.
No effects against full juice
The same sequence twice: clean on one side, then with screen shake, FOV change and motion blur. The clearest argument for what an effect pass is actually worth.
