It's basically the Rainbow, but timed.
Same money, same size hits, just adding a visible progression, keeping the players hooked.
One bar, positioned under the grid. Every cluster win, any symbol, doesn't matter which, adds a small amount of fill to it. No random trigger symbol involved at any point.

A payout is never a matter of "if," only "when."
Once you strip the raccoon and the sepia filter off, the whole game is one state machine repeating.
Spin, check for clusters, if win then cascade, mark tiles, check for Rainbow, if Rainbow then resolve marked tiles, repeat until nothing new happens.
Most slots resolve tension in one beat: spin, see number, done. Le Bandit runs two timers on top of each other.
Even a spin that pays nothing outright can still feel like it mattered if it stacked up flags.
The actual weak point, and I confirmed this by checking some reviews too, is that the whole slow-timer payoff depends entirely on one random trigger symbol showing up.
If it doesn't show for a while, the flags just sit there and nothing about those spins gets remembered or rewarded. So the game can go dead for stretches with zero feedback.
So there are really two philosophies stacked in one menu: pay to get better odds at the normal game, and pay to skip straight to a known bonus. They are also colored differently, with different wordings on the buttons, making it clear that these are two separate things.
Everything else in the game stays the same. One mechanic goes in, and I believe it fixes the main problem.

Le Bandit's actual weak point isn't the coin system, it's that the whole payoff sits behind one random symbol showing up. A player can build up a pile of marked tiles and just never see them pay off if Rainbow doesn't cooperate. The Fuse Meter removes that gate entirely: filling the bar is the trigger, so a payout is never a matter of "if," only "when." The glow ramping up as it fills gives the player a constant, honest signal of how close that "when" is, which turns a possibly-dead stretch of spins into a visibly building countdown instead.
Right now, Rainbow pays out a certain amount of value, on average, every so many spins, but with huge variance, because it's a coin flip each spin. Sometimes it shows up twice in a row, sometimes it doesn't show for 20 spins. Same average payout over the long run, just wrapped in randomness.
The Fuse Meter is designed to hit that exact same average, same size payouts, same rough frequency. The only thing that changes is how it arrives. Instead of "random chance every spin," it's "guaranteed once you've earned enough clusters." I'm not making the game more generous or less generous.
I'm taking the exact same reward schedule and removing the bad-luck droughts, while keeping the payout itself just as big as it was.

The Fuse Meter is the point of the pitch, and in normal play you have to keep spinning until the clusters happen to fill it. These set the meter and the marked Charges by hand so the Burning, Hot and Detonating states and the payout can be shown on demand. Nothing here changes how a real spin resolves — while an override is live it is flagged, because the board is no longer showing a dealt result.
